TOP TEN FITNESS TRENDS IN 2012
1. Fitness Apps for the phone ipad etc. are all the rage. There are already hundreds of them and more and more on the rise. They do serve a great purpose for helping people who are busy incorporate healthy activities into their lives. I personally have tried a few to recommend to my personal clientele and they do work for a certain type of person. Some apps track physical activity, calories burned VS consumed etc. Apps tend to work best for the really disciplined people who just need a little guidance and variation to stay on track.
2. Bootcamps will continue to increase in popularity as people looking to get in shape seek out cost effective and result driven fitness results. The amount of fitness bootcaps springing up around the US is amazing. The comradery and positive energy is addictive.
3. One on One Personal Training with all of the advances in delivering workout routines and motivation via DVD, Video Games, etc. the forementioned App, for many people, there is nothing that will trump the insight, accountability and motivation of working with a real person. The quality of that trainer as well as the knowledge base that they command is usually unparalleled. People who are serious about a true learning experience and are willing to pony up the dollars for real and lasting results will continue to employ personal trainers. Those who have tried it all and are ready to seize control of their health will also employ personal trainers.

5. Fitness Ebooks/ Programs are the move of the future. With ipads, ereaders and tablets of all sorts popping up this is the way that many of people are getting their fitness information. According to AAP (Association of American Publishers) ebooks have outsold hard covered books on Amazon and have enjoyed triple digit growth for 2 years. In these days Information is the New currency. People also want their information portable. BTW SIDEBAR: I would highly suggest that you invest in cloud computing companies on the market.

Crossfit training, and Tabatta method High intensity interval training can be incorporated into body weight exercises, running, weight training, kettlebell training, biking...just about any form of exercise. The human body response of scorching body fat and elevating RMR (resting metabolic rate) is very desireable and fast taking over most people's long, slow runs and longer bouts of exercise.
7. Whole and Natural Nutrition is coming to the forefront in 2012 and as consumers become educated about what is in our foods and how it impacts our bodies people are demanding better quality food stuffs. There are only soo many ways that food companies can mask unhealthy additives and chemicals in food.
